Castles in movies always seem dreary and miserable. They’re dirty, dark, and very cold looking. Even though that’s the way most castles are built that way in real life, in a child’s imagination it doesn’t have to be that way at all, especially in your little princesses’ dream world.

There are thousands of toys and play sets to choose from online. Shopping online is the easiest way to shop for a princess castle. There are large varieties to choose from too. Disney is the number one distributor of these make-believe wonders, but don’t just decide on those. There are many other distributors too that don’t come with that Disney price-tag. So take your time before making your final judgment. Whether it’s a toy or a play set, be smart with your final decision.

The one thing that’s VERY important when choosing a princess castle toy is to know if it comes with very small parts. Small parts can be swallowed by small children. When purchasing a toy princess castle, make sure you check the age requirement.

When purchasing a princess castle play set, again, make smart choices. Not just for the safety of the child, but cost value as well. Don’t get lured in just because of the manufacturer’s brand name. There are so many different makers, it be shame not to check out as many as you can. It’s nice to be able to choose from a maker you trust, but don’t let that be the only reason.

Another type of a princess castle is nothing but a simple tent. They come in all sorts of styles and colors. Name brands, like Disney, can have their cartoon characters on them. They’re easy to fold and store away. You can choose from many different manufacturers, and they usually come with a reasonable price tag that can fit in any tight budget.

Many play sets are custom built, many are built bunk bed style. Bunk bed princess castle play sets usually come with a slide that comes from the top bunk. This may seem like an accident waiting to happen, but don’t let this stop you from having a slide built in. These slides are built with extreme care and caution and every safety measure is taken very seriously. The details in these play sets are fantastic and your little princess will feel like royalty.

No matter what style of toy or play set you choose, you can be sure the little princess in your life will enjoy your gift for years to come. Just make sure the type you do decide to go with is safe and secure and exactly what you want.

I remember my sisters princess castle play set. Her bedroom had a princess theme going on. Her room was pink and white with purple stripes. My father had it custom built. It took about 4 weeks to finally complete it. I thought it was stupid. She was always in her room. I wasn’t allowed in there, but I didn’t care. I didn’t want to go in there anyway, well, not right away at first. I could always hear screaming and laughing in there. I could even hear them when I was outside in the backyard. What were they doing in there? One thing was for sure, they couldn’t have had any fun. Or did they?

After about three days after her room was completed, my sister was gone for the day. I decided to check out her room for myself first hand. I made sure the coast was clear before I made my move. I snuck upstairs and crept to my sister’s bedroom door. To make sure that nobody was in there, I came up with a reason to knock on her door. I knocked three times, but not hard enough so that my parents heard it downstairs. I listened for an acknowledgement… nothing. I checked one more time at the stairway to make sure my parents weren’t going to come up and catch me. When I knew that everything was cool, I made a stealthy entrance.

The first thing I saw was the loft bed. It looked like a princess castle. It really did. It had a stairway on one side and a slide on the other. What?! You have got to be kidding me, a slide coming from the top bunk? That was the coolest thing I have ever seen. What was I thinking? This is a girly room. My father must think that my sister is an actual princess. He had this… this princess castle made just for her! He must love her more than me.

I had to check out this slide though. I have to go down it once; I don’t care how girly it is. I walked up the steps on one side of the top bunk, walked across the twin mattress and sat down at the edge at the top of the slide. This was pretty cool. As I sat there, I looked around the room and saw things that made this room look like royalty. The chairs and the dressing table were amazing. They looked liked they belonged to a princess. Oh well, here I go, down the slide I go.

Just then, I heard voices! It’s my sister! I had better get out quick. That’s all I need, having my sister screaming for my father. I got out in just in the nick of time. A princess castle themed bedroom, pretty cool… if you’re a girl.

My sister Jennifer told me that her six year old daughter, Elizabeth wanted a princess castle for her birthday. I asked, “A princess castle? How does a six year old even know what a castle is?” Jennifer explained that Elizabeth had wanted one for some time, since the last one she had wore out. I didn’t have time to actually go out and look for one so I went online and typed it in a search engine.

I came across quite a few different things. The one princess castle that I thought was nice was a Disney play set. It was made of wood and you were able to fold it for easy storage. It came with figurines and other accessories. They were just things that could be easily lost. The price was right but I wasn’t about to pick out the first one I saw, but I wasn’t about to spend the day shopping online for one either.

The next princess castle I saw was a tent. It was sort of shaped like a castle, it was colorful, but it seemed a bit flimsy. The last play castle she had was a tent and I remembered that Jennifer told me that that’s the type that wore out on her. I called her back and asked exactly what it was that wore out. She said that it was the zipper in the front, and that it eventually ripped over time because of the constant zipping it open and close. It started out as a little tear, but grew into a big one. So no zippers!

Then I took notice of one that was designed for a twin bed. It was really nice. It wasn’t what I looking for, but it just might work. They even had a castle that would fit over twin size bunk beds. Elizabeth didn’t have a bunk bed, so I would have to buy her one of those along with this castle that she wanted so dearly. I had to think about that one.

The last one I took a look at was a specially designed princess castle. It was handcrafted and meant to be kept outdoors. It was a bit expensive, but whatever, it was for my only niece. Plus, the way it was built looked like it would outlast Elizabeth’s desire and she would outgrow it.

I was online a little longer than an hour, and I looked at all the information that I gathered and this is what I came up with. If you’re going to buy an item like this, make sure it’s the type they want. Do they want a castle they can actually play in, or a smaller version they can carry around. I decided to get the specially designed one for the outdoors that she could actually play in. She loved it!
